You guys realize many of you are still on the bottom of/sorta in the middle of the ocean right? Its whole other world closer to the surface. Just saying hoping to spur some ideas!
Round: 7Event: Volcanic Eruption 1 More Turn | Free Food 1 Turn (Note not ALL free food will run out it will just be much harder to find. Your species will not immediately die if you have no way to not eat free food yet, but it will suffer)
evolutionarytardisFaster Cilia: 2+3=5 | As Expected
Description: This cells energy consumption and speed increase by slightly larger and faster cilia which make a big impact in the survival of the species. The ability to outrun predators is invaluable at this stage. However, as they rely on geothermal energy they can't stray too far from a geothermal vent for too long before the cell begins to die from no energy.
Past Adaptations:
Vacoules
Thermosynthesis
Mitochondria
Cilia
Chloroplasts
Conservation Status:
NT
joshthehawkBinding Proteins: 2+6=8 | Super Evolution!
Description: This species erratically develops not only binding proteins but binding proteins that ALMOST serve the purpose of signalling agents, while signalling agents are still entirely needed for more advanced adaptations the rate at which cells break off from the colony almost a fourth of other species. Also with the cell walls the colony almost has a light "shell" over it which does wonders in protecting it from predators. As such the population recovers slightly.
Past Adaptations:
Cell Walls
Golgi Apparatus
Mitochondria
Cilia
Conservation Status:
NT(+)
moopli(If it's alright with you, how about you post on days your not covering for me? That way we can keep the numbers of the game full. For consistency's sake?)
Flagella 6=6 | Better Than Expected
Description: This cell evolves quite able flagella which assist it greatly in hunting down and attacking prey. As well as keeping up with other predators which may become prey for it.
Past Adaptations:
Phagocytosis
Lysosomes
Caveolae (-15%)
Golgi Apparatus
Conservation Status:
VU
classyamoebaMitochondria: 2+2+1=5 | As Expected
Description: This species evolves a symbiotic relationship with mitochondria which work towards cell respiration this helps to boost the survival rates of the entire species.
Past Adaptations:
Binding Proteins
Released Poison
Poison Agents
Metabolic Poison
Chloroplasts (20%)
Conservation Status:
NT
taconukeCaveolae: 2+5=7 | Better Than Expected
Description: This organism develops somewhat deeper than normal Caveolae that are more capable of absorbing larger than normal prey, however without any way of digesting them and the basic Endoplasmic Reticulum incapable of keeping up with the larger cells being devoured these cells "pop" when they get too full of other cells. That fact added to the fact of being a primary prey however has led to a decrease in population.
Past Adaptations:
Golgi Apparatus
Flagella
Chloroplasts
Conservation Status:
VU (-)
centarusCellular Siphon (Any scientific term or info for this on a cellular level?): 2+5=7 | Better Than Expected
Description: This species evolves a Siphon which allows them to form a special Caveola which when contracted via stimuli jets water out of it allowing the cell to push itself around much faster in the water. Which also makes them highly able to hunt down prey or other predators. This feature also make them THE Apex Predator in addition to that their population boosts slightly.
Past Adaptations:
Lysosomes
Better Endoplasmic Reticulum
Caveolae
Mitochondria
Flagella
Conservation Status:
NT (+)
Gabriel GGThermal Resistance: 2+5=7 | Better Than Expected
Description: This cell evolves better Thermal Resistance inside its membrane and cytoplasm allowing it to traverse more dangerous seas. As well as get closer to other species that couldn't previously be reached due to their natural environment.
Past Adaptations:
Cilia
Flagella
Mitochondria
Binding Proteins
Conservation Status:
VU
redwatt50Faster Cilia: 2+4=6 | Better Than Expected
Description: This cell develops Cilia which are more capable of propelling it through the water to keep up with prey. (Keep in mind this cell can still develop Endoplasmic Reticulum which will help towards digesting cells before becoming a "Full" predator)
Past Adaptations:
Shallow Caveolae
Lysosomes
Phagocytosis
Cili
Mitochondria (-5%)
Conversation Status:
VU
That's it for this round, I'm gonna say now here, and include it in the rules and such next that to become a fully (and somewhat efficient) predatory cell one requires the following: Caveolae, Lysosomes, Phagocytosis, and a better Endoplasmic Reticulum. While TECHNICALLY its not required for digestion Mitochondria, Vacoules, and Golgi Apparatus are recommended for optimum cell efficiency as all of those things act as ATP production or storage for things like Lipids, Proteins, Glucose, and other natural compounds necessary for cellular respiration.
