So as it appears. My holidays seem to be starting earlier than expected. I will be unable to post today or tomorrow as I have not only a large project to complete before the end of the holiday but also places to go and things to do and it all is kicking off today. So I, begrudgingly am forced to oblige. So I will say my farewell for this thanksgiving weekend now. Thank you all for being here and helping me accomplish this, we're growing, slowly, but we are. Well, I'm an impatient person and I don't do "slow" So come on guys, hopefully I'll see new members signed in after this thanksgiving week.
For those of you that live outside of the U.S. and don't know what thanksgiving is. Back in like.. You know, the days of "Your religion is not allowed here, go elsewhere." and big sailing ships that one dude discovered America. So these religious people were kicked out and resorted to going to North America, there they started a settlement and became the first settlers to America also called the pilgrims, you probably knew this, blah blah blah. One deadly winter, spring, and summer later and we find out the native peoples died cause smallpox and we're settling in their old lands, another local tribe taught the pilgrims to farm and thrive in their new environment. The pilgrims, happy of their successes threw a party followed by a feast where they fired their cannons and muskets and made all kinds of racket. The natives, curious, sent about 5 or so scouts to investigate, upon learning of the huge harvest and feast and after being invited the natives returned with their whole tribe of just over 100 or so men, women, and children, a feast was held giving thanks to god for their safe voyage and help from the Native Americans and the rest is history, that's why we celebrate it essentially, to honor our safe voyage through the previous year and eat and give thanks to all the good things in life. Important if you believe in God, otherwise its just an excuse to eat turkey and pumpkin pie.
Have a good thanksgiving everyone, go be with family and enjoy the food. Talk to you in a week or so!
